MEET THE ARTISTS
Chania Hudson and Madeline ‘Mo’ Oslejsek Cofounders of Astral Ground Productions
Hi, we are Chania Hudson (all pronouns) and Madeline ‘Mo’ Oslejsek (she/they), two queer multidisciplinary theatre artists based in Baltimore, MD who have created Astral Ground Productions -- a new theatre collective dedicated to exploring and expanding the boundaries of theatrical art-making; to stories untethered, spaces explored, and creativity birthed from the silver cord.
Openness to stories that go beyond our own personhood is what our work with Astral Ground Productions is dedicated to exploring. We are living in a world that begs to remember its humanity, the very essence of the silver cord that keeps us tethered to our beings. It is our hope that our work will help people tap into that connection of the self and beyond-self. A significant part of our artistic practice involves active audience participation, inviting individuals to become co-creators of the experience. This engagement transforms spectators into participants, making each performance unique and deeply personal. We are interested in exploring the theatrical mixed media, seamlessly blending traditional theatrical elements with digital technology, visual arts, and immersive soundscapes. Through these innovative methods, Astral Ground Productions seeks to push the boundaries of storytelling, creating experiences that resonate on a profound level. We believe that by engaging the audience in this way, we can help them rediscover their humanity and forge a more expansive idea of what can be considered "theatre."
